In your attic we handle (but are not limited to) the following repairs:

Water Heaters: Today's tank less water heaters are manufactured for short life for frequent replacement. Unlike the fixtures of bygone days, capable of delivering 20 years of reliable service, modern water heaters are masterfully engineered to last five or more years. This is true for all major brands including Bosch, Paloma, Rheem, or Mobius. Added to this, tank less water heaters are difficult to replace in the attic. Why are they difficult to replace? First there is little crawl space in the attic. Second, attics are usually very hot. Third, one mistake, and you have water pouring from the tank onto your ceiling. The skilled technicians of Drain Doctors use special techniques that allow us to replace the existing heater with more energy efficient water heaters without damaging the home.

Water Lines: In modern residential construction, plumbers utilize CPVC most often. Copper is being fazed out, mostly because of the cost and difficulty of installation. CPVC (chlorinated polyvinyl chloride) is a plastic material that unlike copper, will not corrode through normal everyday use. PVC is also similar to CPVC, only it is designed for cold water distribution. CPV C is capable of handling up to 180 degree water at 100 PSI, far more extreme than a typical residential home. Cast-iron and galvanized steel are no longer utilized for water distribution because of there tenancy to fail over a long period of time due to corrosion. The water quality also tends to diminish as the material begins to rust on the inside.

VTR 's (Vents through Roofs): Cast Iron drainage will become brittle over years of use and eventually crack. These cracks cause water leaks (in some cases) and sewer gas leaks in most cases. Sewer gases can be very difficult to locate, and requires a smoke test or some other more sophisticated approach. Drain Doctors utilizes the smoke test method of located leaks. The smoke is introduced through a clean out, and will escape the crack in the pipe, allowing the plumber to pinpoint the location.

Roof Leaks: Treat a leaking roof as an emergency, because it can wreak havoc in your house in a very short time. Attend to any signs of a roof leak, such as water entry, stains or mold, immediately to limit damage. Locate the leak from inside and then take steps to control the damage until you can have a suitable outside inspection and repair done. Drain Doctors is a one-stop-shop to detect the location of the leak and repair the roof professionally. Our dry out team can then extract any water damage caused by the leak eliminating the possibility of mould spreading throughout the house. We also work with insurance companies.

Mold: A disaster can strike at any time, from a simple small leak through storm damage. Once water penetrates your home, and then starts to dry, there is a very high chance you will have to deal with mold. The challenge is that most molds remains unseen after you have treated it with the standard home solution of a mixture of water and vinegar. Untreated, the hidden mold will spread.
